The Borghese Gardens have something for everyone in the family. Making a visit to this place with your kids is like giving them a treat. It is a big landscape garden conveniently situated in Rome. It has museums and attractions, and the large area of the garden is sheltered with scattering shade trees. You can treat the garden as if it’s yours with its wide paths, benches, and fountains.
Find a good place in the Giardino del Lago for a picnic. You can choose a spot near the small artificial lake and let your kids enjoy playing with small toy boats sailing in the canal.
Bikes and surreys are available in the Borghese Garden. Your teenagerss can use the bikes, pedal carts, and roller blades, whilst you can pedal around your little ones in the surreys. You can rent the items from Pincio (Viale di Villa Medici and Viale dei Bambini) and at Bioparco di Roma in front area of the zoo.
The puppet theatre (Teatro del Burattino) and Cinema dei Piccoli are made to entertain kids. The Teatro Stabile San Carlino performs puppet shows in the summer months. The show starts in the evening at 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm. Your kids can enjoy watching children’s movies in the cinema in the afternoon and early evening.
Take your kids also to wander around the Bioparco di Roma (‘Giardino Zoologico’) and learn in the Museo Nazionale di Villa Guilia. The zoo also has a picnic area and children’s playground. Adorable miniature ponies are available for your small ones to enjoy a pony ride. Inside the museum are important historical items for your children to discover, such as Etruscan goodies and an incredible collection of jewellery.
