Gwyneth Paltrow Suffered Emotionally After Birth of Son Moses

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow revealed, in the most recent issue of Vogue, that she had no maternal feelings for her son Moses, now 4, after he was born. She told the magazine, “At my lowest, I was a robot. I just didn’t feel anything. I had no maternal feelings for him – it was awful.” Her husband, Coldplay front man Chris Martin, was the one who helped her face her feelings and deal with them. She said, “I never acknowledged anything was wrong. I just carried on as normal, and I just felt crazy…It was Chris, actually, who said out loud that something was wrong. And that was such a relief when he did, because it was confirmation that it wasn’t just me.”

Paltrow and Martin married in 2003 and have another child, Apple, who is 5 years old. The actress also credits an exercise routine for getting her back into a healthy state of mind and moving forward with film projects. “I started exercising and I started thinking about working again,” she told the magazine.

The actress’s next film project, “Iron Man 2” with Robert Downey Jr., comes out in April in the UK and in May in the US. “Love Don’t Let Me Down,” in which she plays an alcoholic country singer, is due out later this year. In it, she co-stars with country singer Tim McGraw and Paltrow said that for the role her husband taught her to play the guitar.
