Russell Crowe Gets His Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Actor Russell Crowe had previously turned down the honour of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but on 12th April he finally accepted. The Aussie actor was joined by his wife Danielle and their two sons Tennyson and Charles. Talking about why he finally decided to accept the star, Crowe said, “I’ve turned it down a number of times before, because I didn’t think I’d done enough. But now I sort of got to the point where gee whiz if I don’t say yes soon, they probably stop asking me!” Among those congratulating Crowe were Jay Leno, Sam Worthington, director Ron Howard and producer Brian Glazer. Leno introduced the actor to the crowd as “an all-round good guy” who “just happens to be one the greatest actors in the world.” Crowe accepted the honour, saying, “There’s no place I would rather be, apart from with my family, than on a movie set on a feature film, particularly those first few days when the excitement and the freshness is still there. Anyway, as I said, thanks for the privilege and I’ll always be grateful for it.”

Crowe’s latest movie, “Robin Hood,” makes its world premiere next month when it opens at the Cannes Film Festival. The film sees the actor reunited with director Ridley Scott. The pair worked together previously on “A Good Year,” “American Gangster,” “Body of Lies” and “Gladiator.”
