Hyperglycaemia

This is a condition in which the glucose level is more in the blood as compared to the normal level. This condition is usually in case of diabetic people. Two kinds of people suffer from this condition they are people who depend on insulin that is type one and people who do not depend on insulin that is type two.
Insulin dependent – type 1:
In this case the production of insulin from the body is either very less or nil. The pancreas emits a hormone which aids the body in controlling the level of blood sugar this is known as insulin. In case you are an insulin dependent diabetic then the need are a treatment all your life is essential, added to this a constant check on the insulin levels also is important. This is a state which needs good supervision so as to avoid any problems from occurring.
Non insulin dependent – type 2
This is a condition wherein either the body does not use the insulin appropriately or it does not produce sufficient insulin. This state is known as insulin resistance. This is a state which is generally due to obesity. It is also linked to onset of maturity in diabetics as it is mostly in case of people forty years of age.
Hyperglycaemia is a condition which normally affects people who are insulin dependent. This is a condition in which the symptoms are easy to figure out and once the symptoms are known then with proper care it can be stabilized.
In case of non insulin dependents, with appropriate diet the diabetes can be controlled, with the help of medication and a proper diet. But in case of non insulin dependents also a few cases are such that there is a requirement of insulin.

Symptoms

The symptoms of this condition are similar to those of diabetes that has not been treated. The appearance of the symptoms is not sudden, as the development is slow, and takes a lot of time. A few symptoms of this condition are getting tired very fast, feeling very thirsty, being prone to infections quite often, and passing of urine very often.
If the symptoms are not noticed in time and extended, then it can lead to a blurred eye sight and loss in weight.
When the body tries to get rid of surplus glucose from the blood by the means of the urine, this results in loss of calories in turn results in loss of weight. When a person suffer from very high levels of sugar in the blood there are chances of the lenses of the eyes to change its shape in turn making the eye sight blur.
In cases of enduring hyperglycaemia, there are chances of having problems like, damage to the nerves in the feet, kidneys and the eyes. It can also cause problem such as erectile problems in case of men, heart problems and problem in the legs in terms of blood circulation.
