Here’s an impressive movie directed by Jon Favreau that has the appeal of a comic adventure combined with superhero elements. Even if you are not into comics, there’s a good chance that you will sit back and enjoy the ride with Robert Downey superbly performing in an exciting and interesting story of power and struggle.
Robert Downey Jr. plays the role of Tony Stark, a super rich playboy and genius whose life mainly revolves around girls and business ventures. Stark’s trip to Afghanistan proves dangerous as he gets into a sticky situation where he has to build a missile for a warlord. To get out of it, Stark gets himself armour and transforms into Iron Man as he plans out his escape.
As Stark escapes and gets back to America, all of his friends and staff wonder at his sudden transformation.
Iron Man is inspiring in its creative as well as technical efforts. Director Jon Favreau sure did his homework well and cast his crew very carefully. This talented director, who has been widely acclaimed for his earlier popular flick, Elf, indeed has much to be proud of with the completion of this superhero project.
I really feel that Downey has proved to be a great choice for the role of Stark as it fits him perfectly. His sheer energy and intensity make the superhero character come alive, setting the screen ablaze.
You really don’t have to be a superhero fan to enjoy this movie, and if you already are one, all the better for you!
