Jacky Brown (1997)

Pam Grier plays the title role of Jackie Brown, who is an attractive, clever and witty flight attendant, working for a small airline in Los Angeles, California. Jackie smuggles money into the USA from Mexico, with the help of Samuel L. Jackson, who takes the part of Ordell Robbie. Ordell finds out that one of his old workers, Beaumont Livingston, played by Chris Tucker, has been arrested. He becomes terrified that Beaumont will leak out information to the authorities in order to save himself from jail time. To prevent this, Ordell makes plans to have Beaumont released, but eventually shoots and kills him.
Los Angeles Police Department Detective, Mark Dargus, (Michael Bowen) and Ray Nicolette, (Michael Keaton), an ATF agent, arrest Jackie after she refuses to cooperate with local authorities and they book her for possession of cocaine with intent to sell. Ordell becomes paranoid and bails Jackie out of jail, using the same bondsman that released Beaumont. Later, Ordell surprisingly shows up at Jackie’s house with a plan to kill her. She manages to convince him that she will smuggle $500,000 as his retirement money, while at the same time working with the authorities.  
In order to execute this plan Ordell needs someone he can trust, so he hires Melanie Ralston, (Bridget Fonda) and his ex-con cellmate, Louis Gara, played by Robert De Niro. Jackie helps Agent Nicolette catch Ordell in a sting operation, but she and Ordell plan to swap the money and double cross him before Agent Nicolette makes the arrest. In the meantime, Jackie actually has her own plan to deceive the two of them, so she manipulates the bails bondman, who is physically attractive to her, in order to keep the $500, 000 for herself.
