2008 is a big year for action films. There are a lot of releases that will have a big impact on film history. Here are the top ten for the year.
10. Bond 22
This film still hasn’t even been titled yet but it is sure to be a great movie like the rest in the Bond series.
9. Speed Racer
Good race scenes and it was fun to see the cartoon in live action, but there could have been more to it.
8. Wanted
Angelina Jolie doing what she’s best at, action butt kicking fun.
7. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Harry Potter returns for more adventures in wizardry and keeping the peace. The battle continues.
6. Hancock
A really interesting concept. There are some neat special effects like watching a whale be picked up and throw around like it was a Frisbee.
5. Iron Man
This movie was a big box office hit because it was exactly what people look for in action films, lots of explosions, fights, chases and more.
4. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
This one is even better than the first. The special effect of a massive army of dead skeletons coming at you is phenomenal.
3. Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull
Harrison Ford returns as Indiana Jones and kicks butt once more.
2. The Dark Knight
The best superhero film. It was dark, imaginative, full of action and the best acting in any film this year.

Since the year still isn’t over I can’t name a complete winner but I doubt anything will top the guts and glory of The Dark Knight.
