Farington Lodge is a former family home situated close to the city of Preston, which served as a guest house for VIP visitors to Leyland Motors, also playing host in its time to celebrities and royalty. Set in three acres of landscaped gardens, it became a hotel in the late 1980s, with the current owners taking over in 1994.
As a Grade II listed Georgian house, it offers nine rooms in the original house including a four poster bridal suite while a further 18 rooms are available in the new wing. All rooms have satellite TV, many have views of the gardens and there is a room service menu available.
The hotel’s restaurant specialises in traditional fare, with a seasonally changing à la carte menu. For weddings, there are varied menus available for the wedding breakfast, canapés, drinks packages, children’s menus and vegetarian options. For an evening reception, options range from a buffet to a light supper.
The hotel’s events staff can assist with the planning of every aspect of a wedding and all the hotel’s function rooms are available for ceremonies, accommodating from two to 150 guests. The Jubilee Suite can hold 150 for seated daytime celebrations and up to 250 for the evening reception.
Wedding packages include items such as a red carpet, Master of Ceremonies, table linen and use of the bridal suite for the wedding night. The landscaped gardens are an ideal backdrop for the wedding photographs.
