This ancient manor stands on a site dating back to the Domesday Book. Located on the edge of Charnwood Forest, in Rothley village, just north of Leicester, the hotel has an eleventh century chapel in its grounds.
The hotel offers 30 en-suite rooms, ranging from feature rooms to a four-poster suite. All are equipped with DVD TV, music systems and free wireless Internet. Special facilities are available for mobility-impaired guests.
The Babington Restaurant has a varied menu that reflects a wide range of tastes. When catering for events, menus can be tailored to suit individual requirements, children’s menus are available and specific dietary requirements will be taken into consideration.
Wedding ceremonies are held in the oak-panelled, Wilberforce Suite, which can seat 85 and has access to the garden and patio. Wedding breakfasts can be held in the Templar Suite, which also seats 85. The Wilberforce Suite is available for evening receptions, for which an additional 55 guests can be accommodated in an adjoining marquee. Drinks packages are available for daytime celebrations.
Couples have various options for the evening reception, as the hotel is able to cater for buffets, barbecues or hot suppers if required. The hotel can also assist with arranging a DJ or live band for evening entertainment.
As part of the package, the bride and groom can spend their wedding night in the honeymoon suite, courtesy of the hotel, while their guests can take advantage of reduced accommodation rates.
