The Russkiy Toy has also been called by other names. It has been known as the Russian Toy Terrier, the Moscow Toy Terrier, and the Russian Longhaired Toy Terrier. The Russkiy Toy dog is a relatively new breed. It was created in the mid-20th Century using English Toy Terriers during breeding. In the beginning of the breed, it only had a long-haired coat. Now, there are two different varieties of the Russkiy Toy dog breed, both long-haired and short-haired.
The Russkiy Toy is called as such because it is a very small toy dog breed. It doesn’t usually reach a weight of more than three kilograms. Because they are very light and portable they can be held easily by most adults and children. Whether their coat is long or short, they typically have coat colours of brown, black, red, or blue with tan. The Russkiy Toy has a small compact frame with large, erect ears. Their ears stand high on their head. Long-haired Russkiy Toy dogs often have the extra feature of long hairs coming from their ears.
Russkiy Toy dogs make great companions. They are rarely shy and don’t exhibit aggressive qualities. Instead, they prefer to spend all of their time with their owners. They like companionship and cuddles. If they are left unattended for extended periods of time, the Russkiy Toy dog can become unhappy. This sometimes causes behavioural problems that can be hard to remedy.
