Beagle-Harrier – Dog Breed Information and Pictures

Beagle Harriers are a rare breed. They originated in France and were originally bred to hunt hare and deer. They have traits of both Beagles and Harriers, and they are halfway between the sizes of each dog. This is primarily the reason behind their name. It is not known whether or not they are actually a mix between the two breeds.

The Beagle Harrier is a pack hunter. This means that they are very personable and can get along well not only with other dogs, but they can also mesh well with other pets and children. This breed is sociable and loyal. It also means that they need a lot of space. They would not do well in an apartment or city dwelling.

Their structure is strong and sturdy. This muscular breed has a back that is short and a sternum that is long. The loins display toned muscles that make the dog look powerful and balanced. The well-proportioned physique adds to its look of confidence and awareness.

The coat on the Beagle Harrier is short and thick. It lays flat to the body and is commonly tri-coloured. The colouring could be in grey or white-grey shades. Their tails are carried high and are sabre in style.
