Alternative therapies to treat cancer have been widely sought by patients suffering from the disease. Here are some commonly used therapies.
Two authors, Bob Barefoot and Carl J. Reich, M.D., recommend Acid/Alkaline Balance as an alternative cancer therapy. Acid-neutralizing minerals such as magnesium and calcium are combined in this treatment to provide proper mineralisation and to correct the alkaline/acid balance of the body. Another approach is the use of alkali metals such as caesium and potassium rubidium. When these alkaline elements are taken, they neutralise the acidic nature of cancer cells. Cancer cells die because they cannot survive with the higher pH levels.
Ellagic acid is another treatment for cancer. The cancer programme at the Hollings Cancer Institute conducted a study, which showed that ellagic acid is effective in preventing cancer and in suppressing the development of cancer cells. Ellagic acid is an anti-oxidant that is present in vegetables and fruits. Ellagic acid serves as a scavenger that binds the chemicals that cause cancer and makes them inactive.
Electronic therapies have been utilised to cure cancer. One is Electrotherapy (ECT), which involves the use of galvanic electrical stimulation to cure skin cancers and tumours. ECT influences the acid/alkaline levels inside the tumour and causes electrolysis of its tissue. Such changes destroy tumours gently and depolarise cancer cell membranes.
Many cancer centres also use different diet and food therapies. In the 1950s, Max Gerson started to save lives by prescribing a strict diet of fresh fruits and vegetables. Gerson is the proponent of Gerson therapy, a treatment for cancer that includes diet and detoxification. Vegetarian and macrobiotic diets have been successful among the cancer patients.
