Rutland
Formerly part of the Exton Park estate, the Barnsdale Lodge Hotel is a former farmhouse set in its own gardens. Converted in 1989, the hotel is situated in Oakham on the north shore of Rutland Water. This three-star establishment dates back to the seventeenth century and offers 44 rooms. All rooms are individually styled, ranging from single to family rooms and are equipped with digital TVs. Facilities are available for the mobility impaired and guests can take advantage of the on-site spa treatments.
The restaurant has been awarded an AA rosette for the quality of both its food and service; it is also run by an international chef who has created a seasonal menu using local produce. The banqueting menu for weddings and other events offers a wide choice of traditional dishes and the catering for an evening reception ranges from a buffet to a barbecue option.
Couples planning a wedding will have the services of the hotel’s wedding co-ordinator. Barnsdale Lodge can accommodate a wedding ceremony and breakfast for up to 150 guests and an evening reception for up to 200 people. There is a choice of function suites available to suit most sizes of party. The drinks and wedding breakfast are offered as a combined package and a Master of Ceremonies will guide the day. The hotel is also able to arrange entertainment for the evening reception with either the resident DJ or a live band.
