Booking your wedding photography

The easiest way to select your wedding photographer is to set a budget and work to that. Try to get everything you want without going over your budget. When looking for a photographer you will soon realise that each photographer offers different services as part of their wedding package. Review the packages before making a decision – do you want all the services, or only a few, Before deciding on a photographer, be clear as to what it is you want. If you find they don’t offer particular services it is an idea to have a discussion with the photographer to see if they can meet your requirements; most can be fairly flexible.
Most wedding photography packages offer photographs in varying numbers, size and style – black and white photographs, matt or glossy. It would be very time-consuming to research many different photographers and what their various packages include. Generally most wedding photographers offer a basic standard photo package.
The basic standard wedding photography package usually includes about 20 photographs taken from your big day and presented in a special wedding album. You can choose to have the photographs in colour or black and white. This standard package usually includes an enlarged print for you to frame.
If you choose a deluxe package then you will get more photographs in the wedding album as well as additional albums for the parents of the bride and groom. The photographer will also offer you the choice of how you want the photographs taken – formal pictures or artistic shots.
More recently, photographers have been offering wedding packages on digital media such as a DVD. These are royalty free and allow you to print off as many copies of your wedding photographs as you choose.
