Borador – Dog Breed Information and Pictures

The Borador is actually considered a hybrid, not a breed of dog. A hybrid used to mean something that is created when to different species are crossbred. In this case, this is not, as all dogs are of the canine species. The hybrid term is used loosely here and really does not have the traditional meaning. They used to be called cross breeds but now in the modern day they are referred to as hybrid dogs.

The Borador exhibits the best qualities of two fantastic breeds, the Labrador and Border Collie. Purebred Labradors and Border Collies are bred together to create the Borador. These dogs are generally eighty pounds or less (36 kg) and are considered a medium to large sized dog.

The distinct physical characteristics of the Borador are white markings on the chest and paws. The coat colours can be any of the traditional Border Collie or Labrador colours. The fur coat is varied in length. Their coat can be shorthaired or long. One benefit of having a dog such as the Borador is the fact that unlike some other hybrids they do not have many health problems or high risks for developing them.

The temperament is typically that of the two different breeds. Most of the common personality traits are intelligence, loyalty, athletic behaviour, agility, speed and devotion. These are all very good qualities for any companion. They can be either working dogs or companions as long as they have daily activities.
