Situated at Windermere in the heart of the Lake District, the Briery Wood Hotel is set in seven acres of gardens and woodland. The house dates back to the nineteenth century and still retains many original features, becoming a hotel in 1982. The hotel offers 23 rooms all equipped with TVs and some with private balconies. A selection of ground floor rooms open on to the patio garden.
The restaurant has views over the gardens and boasts a menu of traditional dishes. For those planning a wedding there is a wide choice of dishes for both a wedding breakfast and buffets. Couples can choose to have a barbecue instead of the formal dining option and there are children’s menus available if required.
The hotel has a dedicated events team to assist with organising all aspects of a wedding. Ceremonies for up to 80 guests can be accommodated and wedding breakfasts for up to 112 people. Evening ceremonies for up to 150 people are possible, although there are several function rooms available for smaller gatherings.
Exclusive use of the hotel is available and staff are able to give details of recommended external wedding services if required. Wedding guests can take advantage of reduced rates for accommodation and the landscaped gardens provide an ideal backdrop for the wedding photographs. The hotel can also create a bespoke wedding cake as part of the package available, along with personalised wedding favours.
