The Cordoba Fighting Dog, now an extinct breed, was a blend of very powerful breeds such as the Bull Terrier, Mastiff, Old English Bull Dog and the Boxer. This breed originated in Cordoba Argentina as the name indicates. Other names for this dog included the Cordobese Dog and the Perro de Pelea Cordobes. The Cordoba Fighting Dog was one of the canines used to create the Dogo Argentino but is now an extinct breed.
The physical form of the Cordoba Fighting Dog was widely considered intimidating. They had noticeably strong jaws with strong and powerful chests and sheer muscle mass all over their bodies. The Cordoba Fighting Dog got its colouration from the Bull Terrier, one of the breeds responsible for part of its original genetic makeup.
As their name suggests, Cordoba Fighting Dogs were primarily used for fighting. They would generally fight to the death and many often died in the dog ring. Their aggressive behaviour was targeted at other dogs even of their own kind.
This breed had intensely and innately aggressive temperaments. Usually pack dogs have a certain degree of loyalty and see their pack as sacred family. However this is not the case with the Cordoba Fighting Dog. They would turn on the dogs in their own pack so frequently that it hindered the mating process. This breed fought better than they bred, which is ultimately what led to its extinction.
