Television and Radio Presenter
Craig Doyle was born on 17th December 1970 in Dublin, Ireland. Raised a Catholic, the priests at his school thought he was destined for a career within the church, while he harboured ambitions to be a vet. However, following his degree in History and Sociology he chose to take postgraduate studies in Broadcast Journalism at The London College of Printing.
Following his graduation he worked on local radio in both Ireland and England and this was swiftly followed by television presenting work, beginning with UTV’s ‘The Disney Club’. As well as a stint on the BBC’s ‘Tomorrow’s World’, he joined their ‘Holiday’ programme in 1999 and worked on the show for six years. In 2004 he began work on his own entertainment programme – ‘The Craig Doyle Show’ – in Ireland. The show was produced by Boxer Productions, his own company. At the same time he became a member of the BBC’s sports presenting team.
He hosted a Saturday morning music programme on Capital Radio and has done guest presenting for Radio 4 and Radio 5 live. He left Capital in 2008 and in the same year he left the BBC to join ITV Sport. His sports presenting reflects his own interest in sport. He enjoys running, golf, football and competes in triathlon events. He is also a big fan of Manchester United football club.
Craig and his interior designer wife, Doon, married in 2002. They have three children and the family resides in Ireland, with another home in London.
