Danielle Jane Minogue was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on 20th October 1971 and from the age of seven appeared in several soaps. In 1981, she joined ‘Young Talent Time’ but left seven years later to star as Emma Jackson in the popular Aussie soap ‘Home and Away’. Although she stayed with the show only a year, fans loved her and she was voted Most Popular Actress.
Danni discovered a love of fashion while working on ‘Young Talent Time’, designing the outfits she wore for the show and in 1988 she released her own line, named simply Danni.
In 1990, Danni released her first album, also called ‘Danni’, in Australia and added some extra tracks to release it in the UK as ‘Love and Kisses’. The album charted in the Top Ten and a single of the same name was also a hit. Her follow-up records were not quite so successful.
Danni then turned to TV presenting and toured with several musicals playing the part of Rizzo in ‘Grease’ across Australia and New Zealand. She then turned to dance music and has enjoyed the number one spot in the UK dance charts 12 times. She is the most successful female dance artist in the UK.
Since 2007, Danni has been a judge on ‘The X-Factor’ and has been voted the most popular judge, the viewers liking her honesty and fairness.
In 2009, she was voted Cosmopolitan’s Most Popular TV Personality. She is currently enjoying a romance with model Kris Smith.
