A vegan diet plan which is as heavy on spirituality as it is on fruits and vegetables, the Edenic diet replicates the diet followed by Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. The basic premise of the diet relies upon prayerful self-reflection as dieters repent for the first sin by eating fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, and legumes. Preparation methods are limited to those available to Adam and Eve as well, which means that the Edenic diet is predominantly a raw food diet plan.
This is basically a very healthful diet plan since it consists of whole grains and fruits and vegetables with no processed foods or sugary sweets. As long as dieters consume an adequate amount of protein, most nutritionists do not have any concerns with this type of plan. Vegan raw food diets can be difficult for dieters to stick with on a regular basis since they do require extra preparation time. Since this has a strong religious component to it, this diet plan is more of a lifestyle change than a mere diet.
Dieters can lose weight with the Edenic plan, and it is likely that they can improve their overall health. The spiritual aspects of the diet might prove quite motivating for many dieters who need something extra to help them make serious diet and lifestyle changes. However, the Edenic diet is clearly not the best fit for many dieters who might not need or want a spiritual component, or who are unwilling to adapt their lifestyles to the extra work needed to manage a vegan raw food diet.
