Exam Season

Exam season is stressful for all GCSE students but you need to keep calm and find ways to cope during this period, as it can be very strange to suddenly not have the routine of lessons. You will need to make sure that you get to each exam in plenty of time; in fact, you should aim to be 20 minutes early at least, and then there is no danger of missing it. The outside staff brought in to run the exam has to be very strict, and as soon as the time starts the exam hall becomes, in effect, locked down – late entrants will be refused and you will automatically fail your GCSE. This may seem harsh, but it has to be that way.

It can be very easy to lose track of time when you are not required in school, so you will need to be careful with your timings, and your dates. If needs be make your parents aware of your timetable and ask them if they will help you by reminding you well in advance. Sometimes you will only have one exam a week, so you need to track well what day it is, and what time the exam is.

Don’t be surprised if you feel more tense than normal, as nerves can do strange things to you. Remain calm and try and eat regularly, get enough sleep and try not to panic. This is something you can deal with if you stay calm and focused.
