F-plan diet

Audrey Eyton, the creator of Slimming magazine, created this high-fibre, low-fat diet in the 1980’s. As one of the first diets of its kind, it encouraged the consumption of large amounts of fibre in combination with a low-calorie diet. This allows the dieter to feel full while enabling them to lose weight quickly. Dieters are encouraged to keep their calorie consumption under 1500 a day on this plan. Eyton believed that high fibre foods were digested quickly and also helped clean the digestive system, so these foods are approved in almost unlimited quantities.
Dieters following this regimen are not allowed to eat high fat foods such as cream or milk. They are also discouraged from eating low-fibre foods like white bread, processed foods, white rice, sweets, and fruit juices/peeled fruit. They are encouraged to eat bran, brown rice, and whole grain breads and an array of vegetables. A special whole grain/bran muesli cereal is often consumed with skim milk several times a day.
Many people do lose weight on this type of diet, although flatulence and bloating can be a common side effect. Exercise is not a component of this type of diet plan, and it would be a difficult plan for vegetarians or vegans to follow. Eating a high fibre diet does have many nutritional benefits such as possibly helping prevent some types of cancer and haemorrhoids and constipation. This diet has some sound nutritional benefits, and many people like the fact they often don’t feel hungry on this type of diet. Audrey Eyton released a new diet book in 2006 called F2 which has some modern improvements on his classic diet plan.
