Maes Manor

Location: Blackwood, Gwent

Maes Manor is a Georgian country house built in 1890 and is set in nine acres of lusciously manicured gardens, terrace lawns and surrounding woodlands. It is nice and remote, high on the hills with views across the Gwent valleys just north of Newport and about 20 minutes from Cardiff.

Within this majestic setting, Maes Manor offers one of the largest banqueting halls in Wales, the Islwyn suite, with its original stone water fountain and guest capacity of 220. Should you require a more private function room, the Seasons Restaurant can seat up to 60 guests. Our exclusive package covers a wide range of choices as well as the option to customise the package or menu, if required. Your day will be supported by a host of staff and you can relax as our professional planner takes care of all the intricate details for you.

The hotel has 28 en-suite rooms, 14 in the main house and another 14 located in the Coach house. All are sumptuously decorated and all have an opulent Georgian feel to them, adding to the splendour of the occasion. Should you need additional accommodation there are an additional 15 bedrooms available at the Monnington Lodge some five minutes drive from the hotel.

Maes Manor is just north of the M4 motorway, off junction 28, follow the A467 to Blackwood. For guests arriving by train you can use the South Wales main line, getting off at Newport and changing to the valleys line to Blackwood, from where it is only a short taxi ride away.
