Music at your wedding

Your wedding day is probably the most special day of your life and you are likely to spend months planning how everything is going to be, from the invites to the reception and speeches. A critical factor that most couple don’t give much thought to is music at their wedding. For each part of the ceremony different music conveys the tone – emotional, relaxing and spiritual.
If you are having a church wedding then you will want music playing before the bride arrives. The choice of music could be a calm piece with anticipation. There is a lot of choice but fitting music at this point in the ceremony should be light, quiet but with a positive note. Your guests sit in anticipation for the arrival of the bride. Her appearance and then walking down the aisle to her husband-to-be should be done with fanfare and flourish. Usually at this point it is suitable for slow music to be played.
During the wedding ceremony it is always best to play music at low volume. The choice of music should be slow and if possible have a spiritual tone to it as this will reflect the occasion. Once the vows have been exchanged and the bride and groom are husband and wife then the tempo of the music will dramatically change; music that signifies a big event has just taken place.
Once the couple exit the church as man and wife, this is the final part of the ceremony and here the most fitting type of music would be bagpipes.
