Situated in Hatfield Heath, Down Hall Country House dates back to 1540 with some parts of the estate going back even further. Set in 110 acres of woodland, parkland and landscaped gardens, the hotel offers 99 rooms, each one individually designed and ranging from classic to featured rooms. Guests have access to wireless broadband internet, 24 hour room service and use of the leisure facilities which include a fitness suite, swimming pool and snooker room.
Ibbetson’s Restaurant has been awarded two AA rosettes and offers a seasonal menu that is traditionally British. For weddings the hotel can accommodate a wide range of tastes and dietary requirements and couples can attend menu and wine tasting events prior to the day to help them in choosing their menu.
Couples planning their wedding will have the services of a dedicated wedding co-ordinator. Down Hall can accommodate up to 120 guests for the wedding ceremony and up to 150 for a seated wedding breakfast in the ballroom. Other rooms are available for smaller parties.
The hotel’s wedding packages cover many aspects of the day and can include food and drinks for the wedding breakfast, wedding night accommodation for the bride and groom, changing facilities for guests and reduced accommodation rates for guests. The Prestige package will also provide rooms for both sets of parents. Evening celebrations can also be included and options include a buffet, barbecue or hog roast. Down Hall will only host one wedding per day to ensure smooth running and to give couples the undivided attention of the wedding co-ordinator.
