The Royal County Marriott is a four star hotel situated in the city of Durham on the banks of the Wear, close to the castle and cathedral. Parts of the building date back to the seventeenth century. Rooms available range from the standard double to the Presidential Suite and all offer 24 hour room service, internet access and guests can make use of the on-site laundry and dry cleaning service. The hotel also has an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and spa.
The County Restaurant is a formal dining experience with an à la carte menu. For those planning a wedding or other special function, there are a variety of menu choices available as well as buffets for the evening reception.
The hotel has a team of certified wedding planners who can assist with arranging a ceremony for up to 70 guests. Wedding breakfasts and evening receptions can be held for up to 150 guests. The hotel has a resident DJ or can arrange for live music if preferred.
Included in the hotel’s wedding package are a red carpet, arrival drinks for the bride and groom, table linen hire, a Master of Ceremonies, personalised table plan, menus and place cards, wedding night accommodation for the bride and groom and reduced accommodation rates for guests.
As a gift from the hotel, the bride and groom will receive one month’s free membership to the health club, which can also be used in the three months prior to the wedding.
