The Shendish Manor Hotel is set in 160 acres of parkland between the villages of Apsley and Kings Langley. The manor house dates back to 1853 but it replaced a farmhouse which dated back to the Norman Conquest. The main house has 18 individually decorated rooms and suites including the bridal suite. The new hotel wing has 52 standard double air conditioned rooms, many with countryside views.
The Orangery Restaurant offers a bistro-style menu with a variety of choices, which caters for all dietary requirements and can be available for wedding menus. Buffets are available for evening receptions while other options include a barbecue or lamb/hog roast.
There are various choices of rooms suitable for the wedding ceremony. For those interested in an alfresco ceremony, the gazebo is the ideal choice, accommodating up to 150 guests. Four other rooms are also available allowing ceremonies with up to 300 guests.
Wedding packages are available but minimum numbers of guests apply. A ‘Saxons Gold’ package will include suite hire, bridal suite for the wedding night, table linen, drinks for the wedding breakfast and a dance floor. The ‘De Chenduit Diamond’ package offers a similar range of benefits, but is based on an exclusive use event and will include a toastmaster.
Guests can take advantage of reduced accommodation rates and a directory of local services can be supplied for items not covered by the wedding packages. If required, entertainment can be provided by the resident DJ.
