Alvie House is a simply stunning shooting lodge, which dates back to the mid 19th century, having been home to five generations of the Williamson family, and is an excellent choice as a wedding venue. The house is a charming Edwardian style property situated within the Cairngorm National Park, with stunning views of both the loch and pines woodland which fronts the Cairngorm Mountains.
A warm welcome awaits guests of all ages with charming reception rooms, including a lounge area with large comfy sofas; a library, which houses a great number of classic novels and popular titles; and a billiard room.
Alvie House does not currently have a licence to hold civil ceremonies, but is able to accommodate civil partnership ceremonies, with the nuptials performed in a well appointed and lavishly decorated reception room.
For the wedding reception, Alvie House can accommodate 24 dining guests and 85 buffet guests. For marquee receptions, the number of guests can be increased to a minimum of 150. Catering for the wedding celebrations is prepared by the in-house chef. The food is sourced locally and is seasonal, wherever possible, with the chef taking full advantage of the trout, salmon, venison, lamb and grouse available from the estate.
Alvie house has 15 standard bedrooms, plus 3 bedroom suites, all en-suite. All rooms are generously proportioned, traditionally styled and furnished beautifully; with many rooms having spectacular views across the loch.
Alvie House caters for wedding all year round, although they recommend that marquee weddings are best reserved for the warmer months.
