Planning a wedding on a budget

You don’t have to break the bank to have the wedding you have always dreamed of. You just need to set yourself a budget work to.

Before starting to plan your wedding, make sure you know what your budget is. The first major decision is do you go for a traditional wedding or a non traditional wedding. Non traditional weddings, such as a beach wedding or an outdoor ceremony, can also save you money. It needs to be remembered that your wedding is supposed to be a special day for both of you and your guests who are coming to witness your ceremony. So if you still have your heart set on a more traditional wedding then you need to make decisions about making it a smaller private occasion – invite only family and very close friends or perhaps invite more people to the church ceremony but only close family and friends to the reception.

By looking at all these options you can reduce your costs. You can also save money on the reception by making wedding decorations or buying your own decorations, rather than paying for the venue to be decorated for you. Ask friends and family to all help make decorations or accessories such as name cards, wedding invites etc.

Remember you are (hopefully!) only doing this once, so make sure you make the right decisions and choices before spending any money, as this will ensure you avoid unnecessary expensive mistakes.
