Plas Newydd Country House

Location: Llanfairpwllgwyn, Angelsey

Plas Newydd is on the ancient druidic stronghold of Ynys Mon, Anglesey, and the former ancestral home to the Lords of Anglesey. It rests on the banks of the Menai Straits with spectacular views across Cemaes Bay and Snowden in the distance. Now operated by the National Trust, Plas Newydd is available for wedding ceremonies and civil partnership and provides a charming location in which to marry.

Like many Trust properties Plas Newydd provides a warm and friendly environment for small parties of up to 30 guests in the 18th century Gothic Hall, while a function for larger groups of a 100 can be organised in the Music Room. Both rooms are beautifully decorated and feature vaulted ceilings, classic paintings and tapestries, and a grand piano.

The house features some of the most attractive landscaped gardens in Wales and with the extra charm of the stunning North Wales skyline, you will have memorable wedding pictures to savour.

Hotel accommodation can be found in the nearby village of Llanfairpwllgwyn or across the Britannia Bridge. You are not far from Bangor or Caernarfon where there are many hotels, B&Bs and guesthouses to suit all tastes. Guests making a weekend of your special day will find ample activities to occupy their time with many tourist sites, castles and lots of marvellous countryside to discover.

The country house is two miles south west of the village on the A4080. Train users can catch the North Wales line which stops at Llanfairpwll, not far from Plas Newydd Country House.
