The Red Lion Hotel is a former coaching inn on the banks of the River Thames that has been in business for over 600 years and reportedly housed Charles I when he travelled between Oxford and London. Its 39 rooms range from twin rooms to four poster rooms and all are individually designed.
The restaurant uses locally sourced ingredients to create its menus, which are regularly updated. There is a room service menu available. Couples planning a wedding can choose from a wide variety of dishes for their wedding breakfast and evening reception. Dishes are available to suit a variety of tastes and budgets.
Weddings can be hosted at the Red Lion for as few as six guests to as many as 200. The hotel’s wedding planner is available to assist couples with any and all aspects of their day. Discounted rates are available for weddings held on Fridays or out of season.
Packages are available to ease decision making and the hotel can provide a Master of Ceremonies for the wedding breakfast. Packages can include such items as chair covers, complimentary wedding night accommodation for the bride and groom and drinks for the wedding breakfast. Wedding guests can take advantage of reduced accommodation rates.
The hotel has several boats which are available for drinks receptions and the hotel can assist with arranging evening entertainment, which can range from a DJ to a live band, magician or casino.
