The Rowton Castle Hotel is situated six miles from Shrewsbury and stands in 17 acres of grounds. A castle has occupied the site for around 800 years, though the current building ‘only’ dates back to the seventeenth century. The hotel has 19 rooms, six of which have four-poster beds and all have TV and wireless Internet access.
The award winning Cedar restaurant has a varied menu and for those planning a wedding there is a wide variety of dishes to choose from for the wedding breakfast, including vegetarian options and a separate children’s menu if required. A sorbet course and cheese platter can be added to the menu, while evening receptions can be catered for with a finger buffet or hog roast.
The hotel has two rooms available for the wedding ceremony; the Cardeston Suite that can hold 110 people or there is the Georgian Dining Room, which can be used for smaller ceremonies of up to 10 guests. Wedding breakfasts can be hosted for up to 110 people and evening receptions for up to 120 guests can be accommodated. This can be extended to 150 if the hotel is taken on an exclusive use basis.
The wedding package includes a three course seated meal or buffet, a drinks package, table linen, a toastmaster and place cards. A directory of external recommended wedding services is available if required. The resident DJ can provide entertainment or it may be possible to arrange a live band.
