This is a great comedy, but it shows a very real slice of life too. Brennan Huff and Dale Doback are two grown men who are still living at home with their single parents. They are somewhat spoiled, doted on, and have every convenience known to modern man. They also have the undivided love and attention of their single parents – something that most men will not admit to liking, but just about all do.
Well, the unthinkable happens and their single parents find each other. Love blossoms and before you know it there’s gonna be a wedding. Oh, boy. That doesn’t go over too well with these two. Now they are gonna have to share the nest and neither one of them likes the idea at all.
The parents marry and they set up a home. Their two grown children will now be stepbrothers living in that home together and trying to make things work. That’s where the comedy comes in. Brennan’s constant competition with his stepbrother, Dale strains the marriage, but leads to a lot of lighter moments too. The viewer is left wondering if the two ever morph from reluctant stepsiblings to anything even resembling true brotherhood,
This is a great movie, and one that’s good for a lot of laughs. It’s also the kind of movie that you’ll want to watch again and then maybe even again. Why, I don’t know. I guess I’d have to say it’s just a “feel good” type of movie. You come away thinking that if these two can eventually get along and maybe even love one another, then maybe there is hope for the rest of us.
