Telomian – Dog Breed Information and Pictures

The Telomian is a Malaysian dog breed that is descendent from Dingoes and New Guinea Singing Dogs. While Malaysia has several different breeds of dog living in the country, the Telomian is the only one that has made it out. There are Telomian dogs that are living in the United States. They were first brought there from Malaysia in the 1970s and have flourished since. The Telomian were originally bred as a working hunting dog. They are named as such because they were discovered by Americans at the Telom River. Telomians are particularly good at hunting vermin and they make good ratters. This breed is also special because it can climb very well.

Telomians are very large dogs. They have a lot of muscles and not a lot of body fat. They are strong and lean and are able to move quickly and easily. They have an average weight of only between 8 and 13 kilograms. Telomian dogs also stand between 38 and 46 centimetres tall on average. Rare compared to most other dogs, the Telomian has a blue tongue. The coat of the Telomian is short and smooth. The fur lies close to the skin. They are sable coloured and can be any shade between yellow and red. They also tend to have white ticking, especially on their legs, face and chest. Some Telomian dogs have a black coloured mask of fur on their face. These dogs need the open space of a large back garden to get the exercise they require to lead happy lives.
