Tredegar House in Newport is a 17th century Manor House. It was the home of the Morgan Family for over 500 years and was inherited for many generations. This is a classic country house, complete with landscaped gardens, wild woodlands and a view across the Severn Estuary.
They are licensed for wedding and civil partnerships and you can hold your service in the impressive surroundings of the New Hall, a large, stately room able to hold 100 guests. On the other hand, your reception and the evening’s entertainment can be conducted in the comfortable Morgan room. Such an old and historic building will certainly offer picturesque settings for your wedding photographs. The great staircase, the gold encased Gilt room or outside around the formal gardens are always favourite locations.
There are two recently built modern hotels nearby with over 100 en-suite bedrooms between them and several other excellent hotels within 10 minutes drive in Newport town centre. Since the cities of Newport and Cardiff are close by and the lovely sites of the Wye valley on your doorstep, your party will have plenty to entertain them if they wish to stay in the area for longer.
Tredegar House is very easy to find being located on junction 28 of the M4 motorway, nicely shielded by a copse of oak trees. Newport central railway station, on the Swansea to London Paddington line, is a five minute drive away and you can reach it from Cardiff International Airport in under an hour.
