UK Welcomes Contract Nurses



The UK is looking for nurses with skills in all specialties and the need for them to fill available jobs through contracting is greater than ever before. Contract nursing is a lucrative and rewarding experience for qualified nurses from around the world.

Nursing homes, National Health Service hospitals, London clinics, private homes, health screening clinics, private nursing homes, private hospitals and companies all need qualified, experienced nurses. Contracting agencies across the UK are seeking first-level qualified nurses and midwives to fill available jobs.

Basic requirements:
A visa or work permit
Level-one nursing qualification
Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council
NMC education and training assessment
Minimum 1 year nursing experience
Registered nursing license in homeland
Updated professional CV: references, evidence of qualifications and experience

Interested nurses should apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and once accepted can sign up with any agencies listing UK nursing jobs. The registration process can take up to six months. Current registration fees may be found on the NMC website.

UK nursing salaries are on a seniority based, graded scale, from A to I. Registered nurses begin at grade D, with a starting salary of about £17,000. Senior Grade I nurses make about £30,000. Nurses working in London receive a cost of living benefit of about £4,000, in addition to the standard salary for each grade. Private hospitals, nursing homes and businesses often pay higher salaries.
